The automaker, BMW is issuing a recall on recent models because the rear display camera can be turned off when the car is reversing. Once changed, it will retain this setting the next time the car is driven. Because of this, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says this may lead to an increase in crashes. This setting is against federal safety standards. A study has shown that most people trust that their rear camera system will work every time. So if a driver has no idea that the system is longer operational, this could lead to them accidentally crashing into another driver, or a pedestrian. The recall is said to begin on November 19. The affected models are 2018-2020 BMW vehicles. This recall will also include some Rolls-Royce models and the Toyota Supra. Below are the exact details.
